A Little About Me

To start off the new year and a year of *hopefully* being more consistent about blog posting, I figured an introduction post would be a good way to kick things off!

First off, hi! My name is Elizabeth. I live in the Mat-Su Valley with my husband of 12 years, and my two kids.

I’ve lived in Alaska almost my whole life, the military brought my family to the Fairbanks area in 1997, and my parents decided to put down roots after my dad got out. I grew up mostly in the Wasilla area, until 2012 when I married my husband and moved overseas for his military assignment. We lived in Germany for about 2 and a half years, and then moved back home to Alaska in 2015.

As someone who was a teenager during the rise of Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, I’ve always had a great interest in social media both as a user and in its potential overall. I actually made a Facebook page for my first workplace, a family owned coffee shop, before it was a super popular thing, because I would always wonder how was the best way to inform people about our soups of the day, closures, etc. In the end of 2021, one of my husband’s friends began his own business, (& hired my husband!) and soon after, when his business started really picking up, he asked me to run his social media pages for him. After close to a year of doing that, I talked with another longtime friend who has owned a business in Wasilla since 2011, and soon after I began doing the social media for her business as well!

One day while I was visiting my husband at work and taking photos for content, I was talking with our friend who said (for the hundredth time) that I should start my own business because this is something business owners could really use, and this time it actually hit me. I went home and immediately filed for my business license!

And so in April of 2023, Crab Dungeon Social Media was born! There’s been some growing pains, and constant learning, but I’ve been so grateful to have been able to connect with so many wonderful and supportive people not only in Alaska, but all around the world!

So whether you follow me on my social media platforms, or this is the first time you’re hearing about me, thank you for your support!
